The Indonesia U19 National Team (aka. The Young Garuda) will face Croatia league 2 club NK Dugopolje in a friendly match. The venue is stadium NK Uskok Klis, Split, Croatia. The date is Thursday October 8, 2020 on 20.00 WIB.
The match would be the first friendly the Indonesia U19 National Team have as part of the five friendly games setup.
They have been in Croatia since August 30, 2020. In all, before tonight’s game, the U19 national team has played seven friendly games, against Bulgaria (0-30), Croatia (1-7), Saudi Arabia (3-3), twice against Qatar (2-1 and 1-1), Bosnia Herzegovina (0-1), and Dinamo Zagreb (1-0).
It is ten days since last game against Dinamo Zagreb. Coach Shin Tae-yong mentioned his team preparation is the same from the first game in Croatia. And as from the beginning, he doesn’t target winnings, but to evaluate the team’s progress.
He especially mentions hard work, spirit and focus are the main things the player should have.
Center-back Rizki Ridho (vice captain) said the team is in good condition and raring to go against NK Dugopolje. He hope he can bring his best performance in the field.
We will give our all in the game and play the way the coach has instructed. The player has to adapt to the new Training Centre (TC) base. We will aim for positive result out of the game,” added Rizky Ridho.
The TC in Croatia is a preparation before National U19 team participate in the AFC U19 Cup 2020 that is originally will be held on October 2020 in Uzbekistan. The tournament has been rescheduled until the beginning of year 2021.
As we all know our country Indonesia will host the U20 World Cup in the year 2021. The original date is May 20 – June 11, 2021. We still have to wait if the date postponed due to the covid 19 pandemic.
The Indonesia U19 team is there in Croatia to also prepare for this tournament.
